Blush Bridal Spotlight: Raegan Mellinger

Our brides all have their own unique touches that make their wedding everything they've dreamed of and more! We love to hear about the little things they do to add a personalized element to their big day. Today we are featuring Raegan Mellinger, one of our brides who had lots of fun making her wedding just perfect for her and her husband, Jordan. She was such a down to earth bride and we absolutely loved seeing her smile on her wedding day!

Can you tell us a little about your love story?

I transferred to Lancaster Bible College at the beginning of my sophomore year and met my husband a few months later. We were friends most of the year and in May we started dating. We got engaged in December 2018 and I was so surprised! We went to Koser's Christmas Village with my younger sister and her boyfriend, I thought we were going as an end of the semester celebration but my husband had other plans. After we got engaged he had both of our families at my parent's house ready to celebrate with us! It was so special to have everyone we love there to share in our excitement.

As a bride, you have many options when it comes to where you search for your wedding dress. What brought you to Blush Bridal and what was the experience like finding your dress?

My good friend Grace Cruz is a consultant at Blush Bridal and as soon as I got engaged I knew I wanted to have her help me find my dress. Unfortunately, my appointment was over winter break and she was not going to be able to be my consultant, but she came home early to surprise me at my appointment! It made my appointment ten times better having Grace there! As we were picking out dresses to try, she told me, "let's have fun and play dress up", and that is exactly what we did! I got to try on a bunch of different dresses and Grace was the first one to see the dress I chose. I know my experience may seem different since Grace was my friend before the appointment, but Grace has a way of making everyone she meets feel like she has known them for years.

What were your favorite details about your dress?

My dress was nothing like I thought I wanted, but that is what I loved about it! I had never seen anything like my dress before! The lace added a classic element to the dress, but the design of the lace made it so unique.

Tell us about the inspiration behind your wedding decor, food, or any other fun details!

My husband and I wanted to make sure each detail of our day reflected our personalities. Our decor was very simple and we did our best to accent the beauty of our venue. For dinner, we had Chick-fil-a catering because it is our favorite food and we had Auchenbach doughnuts for our dessert. One detail many people did not know was that my husband picked our first dance song, so when it was time for our dance it was a complete surprise!

What was your favorite part about your wedding day?

I loved having all of our friends and family celebrating with us! We really wanted to be in the moment and soak in each detail of the day as much as possible.

What advice would you give to other brides as they search for their dream dress and prepare for their big day?

When you are looking for your dream dress think of your appointment as playing dress-up. This is the one chance you get to try on wedding dresses, so try on different shapes and styles and the dress you never pictured yourself in. Even though it might not be your dress ,you get to make the most of the experience. Plus, it is fun! As you prepare for your big day, do your best to be in the moment and remember that the little details are not going to matter in the big picture. At the end of the day, you get to marry your best friend with all of the people who love and care about the two of you there to celebrate!
